Over the weekend Jenasys Design attended a Windows 8 Developer Camp. The one day conference, presented by Microsoft, allowed us to get up to speed with the new Windows 8 software, the Metro software interface design guides and some of the changes comming in the next edition of Visual Studio software. It represents some fundamental shifts in how software businesses will need to create software.
Jenasys Design uses Visual Studio software to create .net applications for a range of customers across a broad set of industries.  The mobile smart phone market has introduced significant "touch" based software interfaces and this will be comming to the standard company PC, laptop, tablet, phone (...and more) over the next few years.  As that hardware becomes available, custom software will need to adapt to allow "Touch" and "Pen" to the existing keyboard and mouse interactions.
The changes should help improve software as software designers will need to think harder about software design and content in this changing environment.
 

Our gold coast office is soon to be relocating. Fortunately it will be to area were the exchange is significantly faster. New phone numbers will be coming shortly.
The Brisbane office has also received a 500% increase in the traffic volume available to the staff. This should help facilitate our increased use of Cloud based software.
 

Microsoft has selected Jenasys Design to attend a Windows Phone Workshop to help train us to design .net applications for the Microsoft Windows 7 mobile phone operating system.
The resent Microsoft Windows Phone 7 "Mango" software release has had favourable reviews at Ars Technica. This in combination with the Windows 8 announcements at the Build Conference, indicate that the Microsoft operating systems will be trying to standardise across mobile, table, laptop, desktop and server environments with the .net framework as core software programming toolset. As early .net framework adopters, Jenasys Design is well placed to continue supplying quality software solutions.
